English Toffee

I confess I haven’t made this one yet, but its on my list.

Ingredients:

  • 1c white sugar

  • 1c oleo (margarine)

  • 3 Tbs. water

  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • 1 8oz. large Hershey’s chocolate bar

  • Chopped nuts

Instructions:

Combine sugar, oleo, and water. Cook and stir constantly to 300 degrees.

Add vanilla and pour in shallow cookie sheet.

Cool 2 minutes and sprinkle fine pieces of chocolate over top. Spread until it melts.

Sprinkle ground nuts on top.

Let sit overnight and then break into pieces.
